It doesn’t make sense to waste away a large block of time covering an appearance in a distant county. Per diem representation is a cost-effective alternative to spending half a day, or more, in Riverhead. The cost? Less than one-half of a billable hour. The math makes sense, but only if the representation is reliable and trustworthy.
You need an attorney who will give your case the same attention to detail that you would. This is hard to ensure when you are relying on a per diem network or referral service.
We began offering per diem services to the bar to address a problem that our firm was experiencing with our own “of counsel” relationships in other counties. We would hire a per diem attorney only to learn that the case was assigned out on a seemingly random basis to another attorney we didn’t know and often couldn’t trust. More times than not, we were disappointed with the results. We came to realize that the only way to get quality representation would be to form relationships with attorneys in each of the other counties we practiced who would cover the case themselves. Moreover, we wanted attorneys who would always be available to appear for us. This proved to be a tall order.

Who we are: The Frampton Firm is a well-known and respected Long Island law firm with a primary focus on litigation. Mr. Frampton was admitted to practice law in the State of New York at the July 1993 Term of the Appellate Division, Second Department. That same year, he was admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District. He has been litigating in Suffolk County for over twenty-five years and has tried many cases to verdict in that time. He presently appears in Suffolk County Supreme Court on a daily basis. Who we are not: We are not part of a per diem network or referral service. We personally handle appearances in Suffolk County daily. We do not farm out your appearance to whatever warm body may be available. We have proudly practiced law on Long Island for more than 25 years, and are highly experienced in civil litigation and local procedure. In-Person Appearances
We are available every day to provide the highest quality per diem “Of Counsel” services for our colleagues at conferences and calendar calls in Suffolk County. We personally handle appearances in Suffolk County every day. We do not farm out work to a per diem network.
Virtual Appearances
As you are undoubtedly aware, our courts have moved many proceedings to virtual (video) conferences via Microsoft Teams. In addition to in-person appearances, we are available to handle all virtual conferences. We have a dedicated space for this purpose including high-speed internet, and professional camera, microphone, and studio lighting. We connect on time with a crystal clear video and audio experience.
Detailed Report
Following the appearance, you will receive a comprehensive report memorializing the details of the conference. The report will be provided by email usually on the same day.

Keeping Up Appearances since 1993
Simple Pricing
Most Suffolk County Supreme Court appearances are just $125, including preliminary conferences, compliance conferences, certification conferences, pre-trial conferences, and calendar calls.
Suffolk County has implemented a new ADR program designed to expedite less complicated cases. Most new cases are presumed to be eligible. The program contemplates a 45-minute mediation before a JHO. We are available to handle ADR conferences for just $250, including thorough preparation and appearance at the hearing.
The rates for other matters, including hearings, inquests, trials, Traffic Courts, Local Courts, and Village Courts, are similarly competitive. Attorneys who use us know that they are getting top-quality, reliable, and professional representation without the worry of excessive fees or surprise costs.
